Dr. Douglas Jay (DJ) Perkins is a global health leader who has dedicated 24+ years to reducing childhood and maternal mortality in Kenya.
His science-driven approach and world-class team have transformed healthcare in rural hospitals, reducing childhood mortality from 22% to less than 3%.
Dr. Perkins is a Distinguished Professor of Medicine and Founding Director of the University of New Mexico Center for Global Health in the USA. He is also the Founding Director of the Global Infectious Diseases Research and Training Programs in Kenya
