Winam Pediatric and Maternal Health Solutions
Winam Pediatric and Maternal Health Solutions (WPMHS), founded in 2018, is a legally registered non-political, non-profit, community-based organization located in Siaya County, Kenya. Founded by global health scientists and community leaders, WPMHS works at the intersection of integrated clinical care, community education, and evidence-based scientific research aimed at reducing illness and improving the long-term health and well-being of women and children throughout Western Kenya
We implement high-impact programs focused on maternal and child health in Siaya and surrounding counties through:
Health Access & Outreach
- We bring healthcare to underserved areas through mobile clinics, home visits, and facility referrals.
- Services include basic diagnostics, antenatal checkups, immunizations, and chronic care management – ensuring that families receive consistent and lifesaving medical attention close to home.
Health Education & Awareness
- We empower communities through local outreach, school programs, and workshops that address key health topics like nutrition, malaria prevention, hygiene, and maternal care.
- We also distribute health literature in local languages to improve public health literacy.
- We train and mentor local Community Health Workers (CHWs) to act as frontline caregivers.
- CHWs educate households, monitor patient health, support pregnant women, and serve as the crucial link between families and health services.
Sickle Cell Disease Support
- We run screening, treatment, and counseling programs for families affected by sickle cell disease (SCD), also known as sickle cell anemia (SCA).
- Through local clinics, our clinical diagnostics laboratory infrastructure, and support groups, we provide access to essential medications, pain management, and caregiver education – reducing stigma and improving health outcomes.
