Leadership
Dr. DJ Perkins – Founder & Chair
Distinguished Professor of Medicine, Founding Director of the University of New Mexico Center for Global Health. He is also the Founder and Chair of WPMHS. Dr. Perkins brings over 29 years of experience in pediatric and maternal health, infectious diseases, and translational research.
Dr. Samuel Bonuke Anyona – Executive Director & Vice Chair
Biomedical scientist and faculty member at Maseno University with over 20 years of experience in maternal and child health research. He specializes in infectious diseases and has led programs that translate scientific discovery into real-world impact for underserved communities. At WPMHS, he provides strategic leadership to strengthen locally driven, evidence-based care.
Anne Ong’ondo – Executive Administrator & Treasurer
With two decades of service in pediatric and maternal health, Anne brings deep expertise in operations, finance, and program coordination. She ensures day-to-day organizational efficiency, oversees stakeholder engagement, and upholds fiscal integrity through transparent budgeting and compliance. Her commitment to community impact drives her leadership.
